Barcode Scanner

A barcode scanner is used for reading printed barcodes and it consists of three basic parts-a light source, a lens and a light sensor which translates optical impulses into electronic ones. Now barcode readers began to use USB connections instead of keyboard ports, because it is a more convenient hardware option. A scanner’s resolution is measured by the size of the dot of light projected by the reader with the most commonly used dimension of 13 mils.
